Music Box Cylinder
thingiverse
Drawing inspiration from various gears popping up on Thingiverse, I utilized openSCAD to learn how to combine rotate and translate functions for creating gears. The outcome is a standard music box cylinder with customizable tooth count and braille configuration; however, it may not be suitable for MakerBots but could be sintered. A MakerBot-friendly version is planned soon. Additionally, the project necessitates an accompanying worm gear, comb, and base/box. To personalize your gear, open the scad file and modify the rows array variable, which contains binary codes representing braille points. Change '0' to '1' to include a specific braille point on the gear, transforming digital code into a physical binary representation - similar to a punchcard or Jacquard loom.
