Mushroom Valve Removal Tool for the Golem Gear Shrimp BOV

<p>This is a tool that I use to remove the mushroom valve carriers from my Golem Gear Shrimp BOV. The carriers can get stuck in the BOV body quite badly, making it very hard to remove them by repeatedly pulling on different sides of the webbing with an O-Ring tool. For this reason I switched to using this tool, which puts an even pull on the entire carrier, and allows for a twisting motion to be used to break the initial lock.</p> <p>My tool is a remix of <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4434999">this tool</a>, to which I have added the following improvements:</p> <ul> <li>made it longer and widened the internal clearance to allow the side with the valve facing outside to be removed (use a skewer stick to gently push the valve inside the tool's body when attaching the tool);</li> <li>added holes to the tool, to allow a screwdriver or similar to be used to get a better grip on the tool;</li> <li>changed the back to a hex shape, to allow the tool to be mounted in a vise.</li> </ul> <p>In order to get a clean enough print with enough shear strength I had this commercially printed in MJF Nylon PA12.</p> Category: Sport & Outdoors
