Museum Village Düppel is an open-air museum that stays seasonal. It shows visitors a reconstructed version of an approximately 800-year-old village. The site of this old settlement has now been rebuilt with homes, warehouses, workshops, fields and gardens. In southwest Berlin, archaeological excavations began in 1967. They uncovered evidence of building foundations and farmyards from a village that existed just before 1200. Thanks to experimental archaeology, the medieval village was rebuilt on its original site. The village has become a well-known center for experimental archaeology. The project was digitized by HTW Berlin - University of Applied Sciences. It was part of an annual program organized by digiS and financed by the Senate of Berlin.
