The Wolf Vostell Malpartida Museum was launched in October 1976 by renowned artist Wolf Vostell (born in Leverkusen in 1932 and deceased in Berlin in 1998). As a key figure in post-war contemporary art, Vostell's deep connection to Extremadura stemmed from his marriage to Mercedes Guardado of Olivenza. Located just three kilometers from the village center of Malpartida de Caceres, in Extremadura, Spain, the museum lies fourteen kilometers northwest of Caceres capital city. To access the museum, follow the N-521 highway toward Valencia de Alcantara, Portugal, and then take a left turn at the road leading to Malpartida de Caceres, followed by another left onto the La Lavanderia street which heads south.
