Locality: Romania Size: 13 cm x 10 cm x 7 cm Type: Subvolcanic rock Description: Extremely coarse- and uneven-grained granite, typically forming tabular dikes, lenses, or veins, and varying from a simple composition (quartz with potassic feldspar) to one containing many accessory minerals including rare species rich in Be, B, Cl, F, Li, Mo, Nb, P, S, Ta, Sn, W, U, Zr, and the rare-earth elements. Essential minerals: quartz, alkali-feldspar (orthoclase, microcline), muscovite.
