I needed a storage solution for my filament spools. At my old house, I mounted them to the wall, but I don't want to put so many holes in the wall at my new place.

These mount by putting an M6 nut in each slot on the side of the model. Then to secure it to the rack, an M6x12 bolt with washer will do nicely. The washer isn't strictly necessary, but I wanted to make sure there was enough surface area to really clamp the holder onto the shelf.

This uses 1" (approx 25mm) diameter dowel rods. I intentionally designed the holder to have a tight friction fit, but if it's too tight for your dowel rods, you can scale the print up to suit your application. Since a 1" dowel rod could be off by as much as 1/8" with its diameter, I recommend doing a test draft print for fitment, then printing the final parts.

I included my 3mf file I used to print on my MK3S+. I used SUNLU PETG, .30 layer height, 4 perimeters, 4 top and bottom solid layers, and 20% infill. This might be overkill, but I intend for each of these rack end pairs to hold as much as 20lbs.
