Osiris stands out as the Egyptian deity in charge of the afterlife, the underworld, and rebirth. He is classically portrayed as a green-skinned god sporting a pharaoh's beard, partially wrapped in mummy bandages at the legs, wearing an iconic atef crown, and holding a symbolic crook and flail. Osiris was one of the first deities to be linked with mummification, as his sister-wife Isis wrapped his body after his brother Set brutally killed him and cut him into pieces. Osiris is also considered the eldest son of Geb, the earth god, and Nut, the sky goddess, while being both the brother and husband of Isis, who became pregnant posthumously with Horus, their son.
