Microtechnologies' "Challenge Sense the Level" design addresses minimal level changes by adjusting pipe length and gear number. Gear ratios include 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16 for customizable range. The spring-loaded tape follows float movement, with a force less than float weight but enough to rewind tape and drive gears. Sealing is only when tank overflows; optional magnetic coupling allows motion transmission through sealed walls for constant sealing if needed.
