This design is also available on cults3D: [Multipoint Star](https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/multipoint-3d-star-mmone) This 26-point star features points that clip together seamlessly without the need for glue. Its hollow interior makes it an ideal candidate for illumination. To create a complete star, you will need to print 18 long tips and 8 short ones. The STL files provided are designed to produce a star with a diameter of approximately 20cm. Assembly requires some patience as the points become increasingly difficult to clip together as the star takes shape. A pair of angled tweezers or pliers can be helpful in navigating this process. If you find it challenging, try clipping and unclipping each interface once before reassembling for a smoother experience. The assembly begins with a ring of four long tips, which are then joined by alternating short and long tips to form a half sphere on one side. This pattern is mirrored on the opposite side, as illustrated in the provided pictures. Printing The STL files included in the download are solid and should be printed using "Vase Mode" settings. To achieve this in Slic3r/PrusaSlicer, enable "Spiral Vase" under "Print Settings / Layers and Perimeters." In Cura, activate "Spiralize Outer Contour" under "Special Modes." This printing method results in a single-walled print without a seam, perfect for illumination. Additionally, it prints quickly. Challenge The star is designed to be printable as a single object with living hinges between the points, allowing it to fold up. I have created an STL file for this purpose but have not tested it yet. To print it successfully, you will need to use different settings: no top or bottom layer, no infill, and a single wall. However, be aware that there may be issues with stringing where the four corners of the tips meet, creating binding that disables the hinge. If you're up for the challenge, you might still manage to get it working. Happy Making! ![alt](https://mmone.de/scope/scope.php?idsite=14&rec=1&action_name=star)
