Multiplex Easystar 1 motor mount designed for a 2830 size motor has been upgraded with a Turnigy 2830-1000kv motor paired with a 9 inch propeller, thanks to the abundance of these components available. However, this configuration results in a propeller clearance issue, as it hits the fuselage approximately 2 mm from its edge. To resolve this issue, one can shorten the propeller or opt for a smaller propeller (accompanied by a higher kv motor), or make a minor modification to the fuselage by cutting off 3 mm where the propeller makes contact. I personally chose the latter approach. First, I carefully removed the original motor and esc setup before gluing the new motormount in place using a 5 min epoxy glue. It's worth noting that the holes for the 4 nuts and bolts were not pre-drilled during my assembly process, allowing for flexibility in how one chooses to mount their motor. As PLA is often filled with honeycomb material, I avoid drilling small holes due to potential structural weaknesses. Instead, I heat up a thin piece of piano wire to create precise 3 mm holes by burning through the PLA. This method has proven effective and reliable in my experience. I hope you find this upgrade beneficial and enjoyable.
