Multiple Spool Holder

Multiple Spool Holder

This printer chamber project utilizes Extruded Aluminum T-Slots and a metal rod for holding spools above the device; its key feature being a firmly latched, non-detachable rod that can withstand even the worst spool tangles. However, it is still easy to remove or replace the rod when needed. The 0.75-inch diameter rod supports all types of spools, including large ones from Ultimaker.com. Solidworks files are available for download. The latch requires 0.2mm layer height, 20% infill and 2 extra layers; the pin needs 0.1mm layer height, 100% infill with no extra layers, while the bracket and flange require 0.1mm layer height, 100% infill with zero extra layers. Print two of each part, but a mirrored version of the latch and bracket. For assembly, use T-Slot hardware like these (link removed for rewriting compliance), along with 0.25 inch diameter x 0.5 inch long hex bolts, washers, #6 x 1 inch flathead sheetmetal screws, and a 0.75 inch OD steel rod/pipe.
