Multicolored Christmas Ornaments
thingiverse
I wanted to find a way to make colourful Christmas ornaments on my cheap FDM printer. After a bit of trial and error i came up with a design that works and offers basically infinite design possibilities. You could make any pattern with any number of colours.I uploaded the fusion 360 project file for the base design, so you can change or improve it however you want to. A sample piece is also included to help finding the right slicer settings. It is a very cost-effective design(only about 9 grams fully assembled), there is basically zero wasted material. You don't need any supports, rafts, brims or anything. The only tricky parts are the caps, but are still doable without any support. There are 5 designs on top of the basic single colored one right now, i will probably upload more as i create them. I also have some ideas for different style caps. How to make multicoloured prints:Load the first filament colour.Print the first part of the design. When it's done quickly change the filament, before the bed cools down(or just set the bed temp manually on your printer, so you can take your time unloading & loading filaments).Print the second file.Repeat the last 2 steps if you use more then 2 colours. Update 2023.12.29:Added snowflake bauble and lace edge cap
