Multicolor - Extruder with changeable Airbrush-Nozzle (water-cooled)
thingiverse
It's a very costly endeavor. The water cooling component is not easy to mill, and neither is the heating/mixing block - they're priced almost equally for an aluminum version. The V6 heatbreaks come from Mapa-Refining. Mixing colors: red, yellow, blue, black, white. Initial tests with the first prototype are very functional. These pictures show the first prototype. * The water-cooling element has been modified (the next version will have longer 1/4" windings, making the water-cooling element 2mm higher at the connectors). * The cooling element is positioned on top and cools the heatbreaks effectively. * The heating/mixing block. The first prototype wasn't as effective as I anticipated. The windings were too short, so I made adjustments to it personally. First tests demonstrate that it doesn't obstruct the filament. By mixing all colors together, they're able to push PET through a 0.2mm nozzle at more than 14mm/s with 255°C. I'm quite astonished by this fact. I've been waiting for the hardened airbrush-nozzles from Mapa-Refining! I tested it heating up to 450°C. Therefore, I required different heating elements. I found some - 24V 50W each. It heats up from 23°C to 245°C in 105 seconds and holds the temperature easily. They'll be used as standard heaters! The water cooling component is extremely effective; no material blocks the heatbreaks, and everything is functioning smoothly during extrusion. At present, I'm using a 0.3mm IWATA nozzle - it looks very good! If someone is interested in the fully developed version, please feel free to contact me. I've registered a company for this purpose and the items you'll find below. I'm unsure if I'll develop an air-cooled version; standard air-cooling elements won't work due to the heating/mixing block being too small for that. At present, I'm paying enough for this project and two others - it's more expensive than expected. Upgrade: 29.04.: Broken nozzles and heatbreaks can be replaced when they break directly behind the windings (what a relief!). Next time you'll find some new elements for 3D printing of high quality, developed, and made in Germany: Sundry water-cooling components for Nema stepper motors with 1/4" and 1/8" connectors. 1/256 micro-stepper driver for RADDS and other boards, 12-48V, up to 5A, with high acceleration, usable for ball-caged spindels' 3D Printers in different versions.
