Yet another Death Star! Multicolor, with optional LED superlaser, and snowflake decorations to fill out the empty top and bottom.The snowflake SVG is from Font Awesome/Creative Commons:Font Awesome Free 5.2.0 by @fontawesome - https://fontawesome.comThis SVG file is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.Multicolor model, with no manifold errors.Prerendered files are provided for 60 mm, 70 mm, and 100 mm stars. The details, hanging loop, and LED hole does not scale well, so rerender in a different size from the OpenSCAD files instead of scaling the STLs (or ping me a message with the size you would like).A closed all-in-one model is provided, with a slight flat on the bottom for good plate adhesion. I am printing it with PETG supports for a PLA star.A two-piece LED-ready model is also provided, which (apart from LED and battery) requires two M3 countersunk screws. The trapezoidal head makes for the best twist lock. I use 8 mm screws, but longer screws will work as well. As it is difficult to adjust the height of the screws with the Star closed, a separate Adjustment Ring is provided. Use this to set the screws just right.The 100 mm model has room for a 5 mm LED, the others need a 3 mm LED.Print settings:Use PLA for the nicest print. If you need extra strength, print the ring for hanging the Star in PETG for added durability - it goes all the way through the model for the same reason. But it is probably only necessary if you power the LED from a car battery.The all-in-one Star could use supports, make them in PETG for the cleanest print. The LED Star halves do not need supports. The flat roofs will probably not bridge perfectly, but they are on the inside, and their only purpose is to provide the necessary support for a nice outer finish.I recommend 0.1 mm layer height for the finest finish - also the twist-lock mechanism on the bottom half of the LED model needs this layer height to work properly (first 5 mm). However, when printing at this layer height, the purge tower becomes brutally large, so if you print the all-in-one with supports and PETG hanging ring, staying at 0.25 mm layer height might be for the best.Infill: Whatever you want. For the all-in-one model, use lightning infill for the lowest material consumption.
