This kit enables you to construct and experiment with portable multiband groundplane vertical antennas for ham radio enthusiasts. It's specifically designed for an 8-meter fiberglass pole with a lower outer diameter of approximately 43mm. The kit features a ground plate equipped with an SO293 connector and screw terminals that allow for attachment of ground radial wires. On top, the driven plate can accommodate up to four radiating wires. These radiating wires ascend through guide plates attached to the fiberglass pole. You may need to adjust the diameters to fit your specific mast requirements. The kit also includes FreeCAD files for convenient editing and modification. To secure the wires in place, use some bungee cord to attach them to the mast top, keeping them slightly taut. If all wires are tuned accurately, the antenna will automatically select the most suitable wires for each respective band. UPDATE: Improved spreader plates have been introduced to enhance distancing, and a new top spreader has been added to accommodate 10-meter operation on the 40-meter radiator. Please use only files prefixed with "new_" for the updated spreader plates, as the original plates are deprecated but left here for reference purposes. Additionally, a comprehensive spreadsheet featuring wire length calculations for a 40-meter + 10-meter element, 30-meter, and 20-meter configurations has been included. You can adjust the radiators in place to match your desired frequencies. For optimal performance, I recommend using approximately 20 two-meter radial wires made of copper. While more radials may be beneficial, this setup works remarkably well.
