This stellated icosahedron prints in separate components. Both parts are printed twice, then assembled to create the final shape. Holes for dowels provide secure locking mechanisms, ensuring a sturdy structure. A machine screw completes the assembly process. The model is showcased with four distinct parts printed in different PLA colors in the accompanying photo. I used to watch my dad craft intricate structures out of soda straws every Christmas.
