Multi-Material Spinner Cone

Multi-Material Spinner Cone

thingiverse

This is a remix of CATIAV5FTW's jet engine to create a multi-material version of the spinner cone and tip. When printed it looks significantly better than the multi-component version that must be glued together. Don't mind the artifacts in the printed pics attached. I'm still getting my MMU dialed in. It prints quite nicely. I wasn't impressed with a few things in the MM remix by cucurutxo. His model uses a low-res mesh, the spinner stripe is reversed from the model created by CATIAV5FTW, and the lines on the top and bottom of the stripe are gone. Because there are so few polygons in his mesh, this creates a model that shows lines going around the cone. The lines on the top and bottom of the stripe keep the layer seams from peppering around the cone. Due to these issues, I re-rendered these components in a very high resolution mesh with the strip spinning in the correct direction. I applaud his effort but I wanted something a little more precise.
