USER GROUP l NEEDS People who can't use their hands properly due to spinal cord trauma need help performing actions that require hand strength. They require a solution that makes it easy and comfortable for them to hold objects, regardless of size. Since they struggle with grabbing or catching objects, they need a product that accommodates various sizes. The solution should eliminate obstacles in using the product for disabled individuals. DESIGN GOAL The design aims to solve problems related to low utilization, improper design, and discomfort when using products. First, it will be designed to fit and connect with diverse types of products or devices used in different situations. It will feature a minimal design that focuses solely on its actual function, without any extra features. Additionally, the design will be improved by re-designing it into one hole for four fingers, reducing discomfort. The new design will improve upon the original by connecting to various products, being minimalist, functional, and comfortable. SPECIFICATIONS ESTHETICS Color A simple color is used since age groups and genders differ. Black will be the chosen color. Size The size is compact, allowing four fingers to fit inside the hole. Texture The texture is smooth, fitting the rounded shape of fingers, and firm, dense, creating a stable structure. Weight The weight is light, made from rubber. PERFORMANCE Effectiveness It's multi-purpose, with design controlling the width of the tongs to help pick up and hold diverse-sized products. Learnability Users easily understand the function of placing their hand in one hole and connecting products by loosening or tightening a screw. Attitude One hole for four fingers creates comfortableness. USABILITY The product helps people with spinal cord trauma grab objects of various sizes by adjusting size using a screw.
