Multi-Colored Snowflake Earrings
thingiverse
After remixing Isi8Bit's Minimal Waves design, I decided to try something new with a multi-colored layered design featuring snowflakes. They seemed like a great idea! I came up with two designs and it's the layer depth of the earring parts and color changes between layers that allow the snowflakes to be white while the border remains silver. Initially, I had some issues with smaller snowflakes not filling in completely so my solution was to reduce Outline Perimeters to just 1, which allowed them to fill in more. If you still encounter issues, you can increase your Outline Overlap to 35%. This is something I do most of the time for many of my prints as they require extra overlap to get filled in perfectly. You also need to insert color change pauses after the first layer and after the seventh layer to achieve the right colors. Since I use Simplify 3D, I simply added: {REPLACE "; layer 2, Z =" "M600\n; Color Change, Z ="}\r\n{REPLACE "; layer 8, Z =" "M600\n; Color Change, Z ="} in the Scripts tab. That should be all you need to know, but you can also find my full tutorial on Instructables: https://www.instructables.com/id/Snowflake-Earrings-1/.
