Multi Color Tennis Racket

thingiverse

There is a tennis racket key Fob on Thingiverse that was initially very pretty but ultimately left much to be desired. The main issues I had with it were that it clearly wasn't designed with a 3D printer in mind, and it was created by an artist rather than an engineer. The main problems I encountered with it were that it wasn't a true two-color object, the string dimensions were severely flawed causing it to be impossible to print using a standard 0.4mm nozzle with 0.48mm width - who sets the string dimension to 0.39 mm? Furthermore, there were numerous fillets on something so tiny; I would have used chamfers instead as they are much easier to control for proper layers. Additionally, there were no interesting features on its perimeter as if it was a two-dimensional object stretched out. I rectified all these shortcomings and designed my own version with the following enhancements. Print Settings Printer: Creality CL-10 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm layer height, 0.48mm nozzle width with 0.4mm nozzle Infill: 100 Notes: I didn't use rafts or supports and the thing turned out great.
