Multi-Attachment Tool Ring (Parametric)

prusaprinters

This is a fully parametric ring with the potential to add an infinite number of attachments. A locking dovetail secures the attachments. Included is a STEP file to adjust the ring to your size and parameters of most of the included tools. Just update the “Ring_Size” parameter to fit.

The Tool Ring Lock screws over the dovetail until the top is flush with the bottom of the dovetail. Slide any of the attachments onto the ring, then turn the lock ring counterclockwise until the attachment is locked in place. Turn it clockwise to unlock.

Included Attachments:

Filament Cutter

¼" Hex bit holder with hex key slot for applying leverage.

1/8" Hex bit holder with small hex key slot for leverage.

Scraper

Offset scraper

Future attachments planned are an LED light, brush for cleaning nozzle, bottle opener, and a telescoping magnet for retrieving the MMU spring that falls out of the idler when opening it up for maintenance.

Also included is an alternate handle for the tools.

The filament cutter is functional, but needs some minor clearance adjustments to be perfect. I'll update the print when it's dialed in.

Filament cutter assembly:

Need:

A piece of a 9mm snap-off utility blade.

Two springs from a click pen (4mm by approximately 20-30 mm

Steps:

Snap off a piece of the utility blade and press it into the slot of the blade insert. I used paint on supports where needed and a brim for the lock ring, blade insert, and hex tools. All stl's are positioned where I found them to be best.
