Mulbot - The Mostly Printed 3D Printer
thingiverse
The Mulbot is an open-source, mostly printed printer that I designed to showcase at the Midwest Rep Rap Festival (MRRF) 2019! I had a table for several hours at MRRF last year and brought these 3D-printed bearings I designed, which use recirculating bearing balls. Everyone suggested that I create a printer with them. By the time I was driving home, I already had ideas and a plan to bring the printer to MRRF the following year! Important: I want to emphasize this clearly in case it wasn't obvious. Under "Where to Start," I recommend printing a bearing and a rail first. This is because it's often the hardest part to get right. I don't want people printing the entire printer, only to realize they can't get the bearing to work. So please heed my warning and get your bearings working correctly before printing the rest of the printer. Having said that, I have printed these bearings in different arrangements over twenty times without any issues. UPDATES 3/24/19 - I added an "UPDATES" module at the bottom of this page to contain updates or changes.
