Mulan's Sword

pinshape

This is a life-sized replica of Mulan's sword, from the Disney animated film released in 1998, standing at an impressive 100 cm long! The goal was to minimize external tools and materials required to build it, so each piece was designed with specific printing requirements that also eliminated the need for painting. Simply print each section using filament of the corresponding color. Printing Instructions: Guard.STL: Print two times with 1.5mm layer height, 40% infill, and supports enabled. Handle.STL: Print once with 2.0mm layer height, 40% infill, and no supports needed. Ferrule.STL: Print two times with 1.5mm layer height, 40% infill, and no supports needed. Pommel.STL: Print once with 2.0mm layer height, 40% infill, and no supports needed. BladeTip.STL: Print two times with 2.0mm layer height, 15% infill, and no supports needed. BladeA.STL: Print two times with 2.0mm layer height, 15% infill, and supports enabled. BladeB.STL: Print six times with 2.0mm layer height, 15% infill, and supports enabled. Assembly: 1. Glue together the halves that make up the parts labeled BladeA, BladeB, and BladeTip. 2. Assemble all the Blade pieces using superglue. 3. Place the rectangular ending of the Blade in one of the Guard halves, ensuring it fits properly, and glue it. Then, cover it with the other half. 4. Insert the Ferrules at the ends of the Handle, pressing them until they fit tightly. 5. Place the Pommel in the end of the Handle without a rectangular hole. 6. Apply glue to the rectangular end of the Blade exiting the Guard and use it to join the Blade to the Handle. Take a look at the attached pictures for visual assistance with the assembly process. To adjust the sword's size, modify the number of BladeB pieces; each addition or removal adds or removes 180mm from the blade's length.
