Mulan's Sword
thingiverse
This is a life-sized replica of Mulan's sword, from the Disney animated film released in 1998. The main goal of this design was to minimize the use of external tools and materials required to build it. Each piece was designed to be printed with filament in its corresponding color, making painting unnecessary. Printing Instructions: Guard.STL (2 times): Print at a layer height of 0.15mm with 40% infill and supports enabled. Handle.STL: Print at a layer height of 2.0mm with 40% infill and no supports needed. Ferrule.STL (2 times): Print at a layer height of 0.15mm with 40% infill and no supports needed. Pommel.STL: Print at a layer height of 2.0mm with 40% infill and no supports needed. BladeTip.STL (2 times): Print at a layer height of 0.20mm with 10% infill and no supports needed. BladeA.STL (2 times): Print at a layer height of 0.20mm with 15% infill and supports enabled. BladeB.STL (6 times*): Print at a layer height of 0.20mm with 40% infill and supports enabled. Assembly: 1) Glue the halves of BladeA, BladeB, and BladeTip together. 2) Assemble all Blade pieces using superglue. 3) Attach the rectangular end of the Blade to one half of the Guard, making sure it fits properly. Then, glue it and cover with the other half. 4) Place the Ferrules at the ends of the Handle and press until they fit tightly. 5) Insert the Pommel into the end of the Handle without a rectangular hole. 6) Apply glue to the rectangular end of the Blade that emerges from the Guard and use it to connect the Blade to the Handle. Check out the attached pictures for illustrated assembly steps. The design can be adapted to different sizes by adjusting the number of BladeB pieces, which adds or removes 180mm from the blade's length. Print Settings: Printer: Flashforge Creator Pro 2016 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% Notes: Please refer to the instructions for recommended settings for each part.
