Creating a Simple Mug Design in NX10 - A Beginner's Guide Designing a mug is an uncomplicated process that can be accomplished using NX10 software. To start, open NX10 and create a new part. Set the units to inches and make sure the origin point is set to the center of the mug. Draw a circle with a diameter of 3 inches for the body of the mug. Make sure it's centered on the XY plane. Use the "Pull" tool to extrude the circle upwards by 2.5 inches, creating the body of the mug. Next, draw two small circles at the top and bottom of the mug for the handles. Position them symmetrically about the center line. Extrude these circles downwards by 0.75 inches to create the handles. Use the "Revolve" tool to add a lip to the top of the mug. Draw a circle with a diameter of 1 inch at the top of the body and extrude it outwards by 0.25 inches. Draw two lines on either side of the center line, 2 inches apart, for the base of the mug. Use the "Revolve" tool to create a cylindrical shape from these lines, connecting them to the bottom of the body. Use the "Chamfer" tool to smooth out any sharp edges and add a finish to your design. Finally, use the "Surface" tool to add texture or patterns to the mug as desired.
