Thank you so much for supporting, downloading and sharing your files! This project was created as an entry for the Assistive Technology Challenge here on Thingiverse in order to gain some exposure and reach out to the right audience. Please follow me to get more printable assistive devices in the future! Disclaimer: Use it at your own risk. I am not responsible for any harm that may occur to people and objects by flaws in your prints or improper usage. My model could handle a bit above 0.5kg, as you can see on the bottle picture, but please make sure to carefully test its reliability before applying anything heavy onto it! Also be aware that the nuts and screws may not be perfect on every printer. Don't forget to try the test files at the top before printing everything! #AssistiveTech Mug Holder - Recidal Design Is for everyone who needs help lifting a cup, mug, glass, can, or even a bottle to drink. It enables you to drink directly through a straw, as well as shortens the distance you need to lift it to your mouth. It is fully adjustable and should be mountable on most tables. Because of its modular nature, you could easily put other stuff instead of the mug arm as well, still using the same base. Those will be updated shortly. Printing the whole thing will most likely take up to 24 hours at 0.2mm with 50% infill. Testing different nuts and resolutions probably took around 5-7 hours as well. It consumes a lot more plastic and time than I had anticipated. Recommend keeping your spool size in mind while printing this. I have been quiet on updates for a while, but everything is ready to use now. I won't be doing any changes to the design from this point forward. However, it will receive new modules for multipurpose. Background: I have a lot of experience with disabilities as seen from a first-person view. Being able to take a sip of water, soda or any other liquid without asking someone for help each time should be considered crucial part in becoming slightly more independent. This was my aim with the "Mug Holder", hopefully giving people the ability to drink more independently as I know it has helped me.
