Muffin CNC
thingiverse
This project isn't complete yet; it still requires the XY axis components, stepper motors, and a hardware burrito. The extruder screws were cannibalized for temporary assembly. Electronics are mounted upside down in the bottom cavity with power supply, all four sides remain open, and the bottom plate is easily removable after unscrewing. Acrylic letters adorn where "MakerBot Industries" would typically be. Inspired by Adam, the z-axis drive system will be placed within the lower cavity. The bottom design allows for easy removal of the cover without removing sides. Currently, the SD card is accessible but nonfunctional. Subversion details can be found at http://svn.makerbot.com/users/charles/muffin/, and updates are available on Charles' blog (http://charlespax.wordpress.com/) and Twitter (@charlespax).
