I printed the model and then carefully inserted the carbon-fiber sheets into the shield from the side of the wheel. As I waited for the resin to fully solidify, a piece of plastic was cut down to size over the wheel to cover the carbon fiber. This allowed me to thin out the shield while still maintaining its structural integrity. With that done, he proceeded to seal the rest of the carbon fiber in place, resulting in a total thickness of two layers of the high-strength material.
