I have chosen to make the Mud Kitchen using three Cooker Dials and three Cooker Rings, very much depends on the size of Kitchen you are planning. The wooden Kitchen was made from recycled wood. Cooker Ring:- 1 x Cooker Ring Body 1 x Cooker Inner Ring The Inner Ring is held in place by applying Clear Silicone Sealant to the base of the spiral ring of the body and is then pressed in place. Any excess silicone is immediately wiped away. The completed assembly is held in place on the kitchen top using a M5 countersunk screw and nut. Cooker Dials. The Cooker Dial are numbered 1-6 on the front face, and when assembled rotates only one way, in this case Clockwise using a Gear Pawl Ratchet. The Gear Pawl is attached to the front of the Kitchen using 3off, 3.5 x 16mm Counter sunk screws. The Pawl is a tight fit over the Bearing Rod Shaft, note the direction of the arms of the Pawl. The Knob Dial is offered up over the Bearing Rod Shaft, and making sure that the Dial rotates freely in a clockwise direction, and that the Gear Pawl ratchet works. A Gear Pawl Trust Washer is passed over the shaft of a M4 x 60mm Cap Head screw, and this unit is passed through the Knob dial and Bearing rod. The Bearing Rod Trust Washer is placed over the end of the screw and a Nyloc nut is attached. Using a pair of pliers to hold the screw thread, tighten the nut to adjust the mechanism allowing it to rotate freely. Once you are satisfied that the mechanism works well and the nut nut is secured on the screw then you can glue the Knob Cap in place. The numbers on the Dial are painted using Acrylic paint Supports were used for printing and any flash was removed using a file and sandpaper The design so far appears to robust, standing up to all weathers, dirt, water and of course mud. A good hose down of the Kitchen after playtime is recommended.
