MTG/TCG Deck Box Companion Cube (Commander, Life Counter, Tokens, Magic the Gathering)

The deck box I remixed from is fantastic, but there were a few things I wasn't happy with. I also wanted to be able to fit the life counter inside the box.

IMPORTANT: If you want to use magnets in the life counter, you need to set something up to pause at certain layers to glue in (you don't want it jumping to the nozzle) the magnets. If you don't want to use magnets for the life counter, you may want to turn on support for the tube and side parts.

Box Changes

Box is smaller (132mm -> 122m) ~~but holds more cards (75mm -> 82mm)~~

v36 holds more cards, v37 has an improved interior (easier to get cards out, rounded edges) but is back to 75mm

Area for 3 D20 dice is now a slot to hold a drawer with the disassembled life counter, 24 tokens, and 3 D6 dice

Added a "helper" tray to make it much easier to get cards out

Modified the lid to look the same as the sides (ring and 4 grooves)

Made the lid snap into place

Added support for the box's lid gap in the model

Life Counter Changes

Combined Ring and Spring and they now rotate much more smoothly

A bit smaller to fit in the drawer

Magnets embedded in the prints for disassembly

Accent arrows made separate parts and larger

Accent hexagons added to sides (these can be customized, there are a few other options in the design files)

Notes

Got a bit lazy near the end and may not have fixed all the places where I didn't use parameters. So if you're changing parameters verify that everything you want to change changes

(Box) The parameter for the size of the bumps (LidNub) is very precise. 0.1mm is the difference between a satisfying snap and being way too tight or loose. You may need to tweak this for your printer

(Life Counter) The magnets I used are 8mm in diameter by 2.8mm thick. These are parameters so they can be customized

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Anycubic

Printer:

All-metal Mega

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

10% Gyroid

Filament: 3D Printing Canada/CC3D PLA Black/Copper

Notes:

Printing walls first will help with dimensional accuracy (disable "Infill Before Walls" for Cura)
For the sides of the life counter I used buildplate supports with "Support X/Y Distance" set to 2 to 3mm. This helps the bridging but is still easy to remove with pliers For the "Helper" you'll need supports

Category: Toy & Game Accessories
