Here's a spin-down life counter for Magic the Gathering that's designed with simplicity in mind. Each piece features a hole where you can place a 1/4" magnet - just pound these magnets into position and watch as the pieces snap together perfectly (make sure to get the magnet orientation right). This modification draws inspiration from jlgilmon's life counter, but I've made one key change: swapping out the original magnets for easier-to-find 1/4" ceramic ones. That's really the only reason I decided to remix this design - it just makes things a bit more convenient.
