MTG - Latching Deck Box - Two Piece Print
thingiverse
Printing in one piece resulted in an excessively large product that measured nearly 10 inches in length, leading me to attempt a two-piece design with a snapping mechanism. I revised the model after the previous iteration indicated that the hinges were too challenging to snap together successfully. Using my standard low-quality printing settings, I printed my build with the following parameters: quality set to low, generate support material enabled at 45 degrees, and support every layer engaged. Additionally, I opted for an infill density of 25% hexagons. Since objects requiring supports, such as the hinges on this project, often don't print well using tape, I resorted to applying glue stick to achieve a more reliable bond. My next revision is already in progress and scheduled for tomorrow; the hinge now operates smoothly, with minimal effort required to snap it into place, but the latch could benefit from a tighter seal.
