Trophy for Magic: The Gathering Cube events is now a reality. I created it for my local play-group and they love it. It prints in two parts, stand and cube. When put together, the trophy measures 68x60mm at its base and stands 95mm high. To assemble this trophy, print the cube with the eyes facing upwards. You may need some support for the hole in the cube to prevent warping. I printed my cube at 0.1mm resolution on a Wanhao i3 v2, using PLA filament, and it took six hours to complete. The stand is printed right side up and doesn't require any support. It's designed to fit snugly into the cube after a quick sanding job, which I had planned anyway to remove print lines. I printed the stand at 0.1mm resolution on my Wanhao i3 v2, using PLA filament, and it took two hours and twenty minutes to complete. Here are my print settings: Printer: Wanhao Replicator i3 v2. Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 20% rectangular Important Notes: The cube should be printed with the eyes facing up, and some printers may need support for the mounting hole. After printing, I sanded the trophy, superglued it together, primed it, painted it gold in two layers, and added a green felt base. I designed this trophy from scratch using OpenSCAD.
