MTD Pan/Tilt Mount Plate
thingiverse
This is a mounting plate designed specifically for installing the PROPAN2 from FPVGadgets.com on the nose of the MyTwinDream (MTD) model airplane. To ensure a clean installation, the mounting ears on the PROPAN2 need to be removed by cutting them off. These ears are no longer required since the PROPAN2 is securely fastened to the mounting plate using the same 4 screws that hold the frame together. A template is provided so you can mark the area where the assembly should be cut out to fit snugly in the nose. Place the template with its rear lip facing downwards and against the rear edge of the foam deck. Align the V-notch on the template with the seam in the fuselage for a precise fit. When cutting, exercise caution as the foam strip at the rear of the deck is quite thin. To add extra strength to this area, I installed a thin carbon strip into the foam, as shown in the accompanying picture. To prepare the mounting blocks, cut and sand them to shape so they fit perfectly into the recesses for the mounting bolts. Next, install blind nuts into the blocks and glue them into the fuselage using the template with the 2 mounting screws until the glue has dried.
