MTB helmet and glasses holder 11 grams
thingiverse
Hi there, Climbing the mountain with an MTB bike is always a thrilling experience. However, one major issue that arises is dealing with a helmet full of sweat. The constant need to adjust and hold the helmet in place can be quite annoying, especially when it gets in the way. I recall losing my glasses once because I didn't know where to put them, which led me to search for a solution. I decided to print using TPU with a slightly higher fill density (35%) and was pleasantly surprised by the result. The main advantage of this approach is that you don't need to worry about placing anything between the handlebar and the holder to avoid tilting. Assuming an average handlebar diameter of 31.8mm, I used cable ties measuring 3.5x1mm for a secure fit. The design of the holder itself features a gap of 4x1.5mm inside, which provides ample space for comfortable grip. I would be grateful to receive feedback from fellow enthusiasts regarding this design. One STL file is available without any logo, while the other includes a prominent bicycle producer's branding. The glasses holder is designed with an adjustable width, allowing it to accommodate various sizes of frames. To prevent damage or breakage, I opted for TPU or flexible material, ensuring that the holder can bend and flex according to the terrain. If you find this design helpful, please show your appreciation - a little encouragement would go a long way! Have fun climbing those mountains! Best regards, Stefan
