MT3608 step up DC boost box
thingiverse
Needed a way of powering some of my more diabolical PPE projects to up to 15V via standard 5v micro usb. MT3608 DC-DC voltage step up boost board is perfect for this. This listing has two box / case / enclosure / covers for these boards: one for micro usb input; and a longer one for soldered inputs. If you've never used the MT3608 board before WATCH THIS VIDEO: "How to properly adjust a MT3608 DC-DC Booster" (G-G Electronics July, 2018) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD7fMylYgXw They will catch fire if you don't pre-set Vout using a max 3.3v Vin to start. I did exactly as instructed in the above video using 2xAA batteries to input ~3.3v at initial power on and had no failures. Design features: -Thick walls for robust part. -Chamfered bottom edges to compensate for extreme elephants foot if z0 to low. -Heat vent channels in lids. -Gaps in lid for zip tie, strain relief wire retention. -Chamfered holes for jewellery screws all corners. 2.5mmx6mm work best. otherwise try 2mmx6mm if holes do not resolve well. -Hole in bottom of box offset from centre to allow easy removal of circuit board. -Drafted inner box sides to help retain board with a push click without jamming. But still allow easy removal using pusher hole in base if needed. -Emboss to indicate adjustment direction -Features in Lid to securely clamp micro usb and pot in place. -Wide opening for micro usb input to accept a variety of bulky cheap connector plastic shrouds. Should work with any micro usb connector. Requires bridging on in slicer. My printer calibration is less than perfect. Test print and scale x/y in slicer by 0.5% increments until a snug fit is achieved. Let me know if there are any design changes you would like in the comments.
