MT100 thruster for N2830 Brushless Motor
thingiverse
This is a small upgrade to take the shaft version N2830 motor, as the original shaft less motor seems to no longer be available. This requires only minimal modifications to the original files to fit my N2830 motor, which was advertised as "1000KV/1300KV N2830 Brushless Motor for RC Helicopter Fixed Wing Aircrafts". The modifications involve a new hole in the static nose to accommodate the rotating shaft and modifying the four static mount hole placements. Additionally, the hole spacing on the propeller needs to be modified to match the four N2830 hole placements. I tested this in a sink at full power with a 3S lipo, and it drew over 5A from the battery while producing very good (though unmeasured) thrust. I had to stop the test as my battery wires were inadequate and started melting. Full speed in air drew an average of 0.8A. All screws are M3, except for the propeller, which uses M2.5, but these will likely come with the motor. I was surprised when testing it in water with a dinghy that the current draw was nearly 30A, and the thrust was excellent. However, I think I'll be sticking to oars - I get longer range! It would be great to have a redesign that better protects the wiring, perhaps integrating them into one of the motor struts. However, the design certainly works well as it is.
