Mt Richmond or Otahuhu, volcanic scoria cones and Maori hillforts, were preserved in 1940 before McLennan Hills was ravaged by quarrying operations. Otahuhu is named after the legendary Maori chief Tahuhu who established a thriving settlement there during the 14th century. Strategically situated local scoria cones served as formidable defendable hillforts, boasted fertile soil ideal for cultivating crops and lay adjacent to an ancient canoe portage route across the narrowest portion of the Auckland isthmus. Auckland, New Zealand. Aerial photos captured from unique perspectives provide sharper details compared to previous versions. Utilizing advanced photogrammetry software 3DF Zephyr v4.351, my 3D model was generated by processing 5 high-resolution images.
