MT filament Spool: small parts trays+extras
thingiverse
Hello fellow makers, I've been pondering what to do with the used spools I've accumulated from my 3D printer. I tried selling them on eBay, but unfortunately, that didn't work out. However, I realized that these spools are actually quite useful and can be repurposed as a desk organizer. Here's a simple solution: print some insert trays for the MT Spool using your 3D printer. This tray is perfect for small items, and printing three of the files will fill up the spool nicely. To secure the trays in place, you'll need six M3 screws (10/12mm) and drill some holes at the right locations on the sides of the spool to accommodate them. To take your tray system to the next level, check out the additional trays available on Cults3D. The Orange tray is a half-height design with two compartments that can be printed in pairs to match the area of one full-height tray. The Green tray is an insert tray that slots into the full-height tray. These trays are designed to fit a spool with an overall diameter of 195mm and an internal distance of 53/54mm between sides (please refer to the images for more details).
