Mt Elbrus 10km Collectible Mountain
myminifactory
Towering over 18,000 feet, Russia's majestic Mt. Elbrus stands tall as Europe's highest peak, earning its place in the Seven Summits with ease. This magnificent mountain may not present a terribly challenging climb for experienced adventurers. In fact, back in 1997, a team of skilled Russians successfully drove their Land Rover onto the lower East summit using a winch. You can watch a detailed video tutorial on how to create your own miniature mountains at [link]. This tutorial is part of my ongoing series of "collectible mountains" that showcases intricately rendered models at a scale of 1:100,000. Each model represents a 10km x 10km area, with the base sitting proudly at sea level for accurate comparison between different mountain ranges. Have you ever wondered just how much larger Everest is compared to Mt Shasta? Now you can hold both in your hands and make direct comparisons. We explored the world of 3D models like this one, as well as delved deeper into the exciting realm of 3D printing on our recent episode of the 3D Printing Today podcast, available on iTunes, Stitcher radio, or directly from the source at http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/.
