MT-78 Combat Armor
sketchfab
I was experimenting with characters in ZBrush, initially just sketching out an idea, but things quickly took off and before I knew it, I had a fully fleshed-out design. I got carried away, and the result is somewhat rough around the edges. I should have broken down the ZBrush pieces into separate objects for material IDs, that would've been a smart move. Lighting control could use some work too. There's something about Substance Painter's normals that really stands out – they're much smoother and more refined than what I get on Sketchfab. Decimating everything without a solid topological foundation isn't the best approach; some IMM stuff can be salvaged for low-poly purposes later down the line. Unfortunately, the Blender topo tool didn't quite live up to its promise.
