This is a simple mod to the existing Mini Stealthburner part, “Extruder Midbody”.It places a micro SMD switch along the filament path, and thus acts as a filament run out sensor. A very simplistic version, it will only detect the presence of a filament, or not.Nothing else.Follow Vorondesign recommendation for printing the part.I use 4 walls with 4 top and bottom surfaces.15% Gyroid infill. You will need these additional parts as well;1x SMD Micro Switch D2LS;https://www.elfa.se/en/micro-switch-d2ls-1ma-1no-6n-pushbutton-omron-electronic-components-d2ls-21-by-omz/p/301186232x 0.8mm²/18AWG wires, with length of at least ~70mmSoldering iron with appropriate accessories. You need to thread the wires through the new printed part, and out through the pocket where the SMD switch will be placed later. Solder the wires to the switch, make sure to have the button on the switch oriented so the button is closest to the top of the part. Where the filament will be loaded into to the part, and down towards the hotend once completely assembled. Once soldered, carefully fit switch into the pocket.Have the solder pads oriented to the left side, and button towards the filament path to the right. If you are viewing the part from the front, like it is when it is in use and mounted on the printer. If you are worried that you will not get the filament out, because it is so long down the filament path of the printer head. Just push it down with a heated hotend and/or extrude new filament. It has worked flawlessly for me while using this mod.Say goodbye to strings of unusable filament! If there are any issues, please leave a comment describing your issue, in detail!
