MSB 3D Printer Variant
thingiverse
Introducing a 3D printer variant that utilizes MakerSlide, MakerBot Gen4 Electronics/parts, Misumi, and 80/20 extrusions for an alternative to the MakerBot Thing-o-Matic. The creator has shared a working version but is still figuring out the electronics mount placement. This is their second attempt with revised parts. Additional SKP files have been added on March 29, 2012. Parts were printed using PLA, and the extruder mount can hold a standard MK7 mounting plate. The Hot Bed Plate mount uses 4 to 8 magnets for attachment, which can be sourced from SparkFun. Thumbwheels' origin is credited to a thingiverse model. The creator is still trying to resolve issues with mirrored parts during printing and will continue updating the design as progress is made on the electronics mount placement. Screws and washers used for holding extrusions are listed, along with sources of inspiration for specific parts. (9/1/14: New version available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:448686)
