MRI needle biopsy robot
thingiverse
The foundation of a cable-driven biopsy robot is based on three degrees of freedom (3 DOF). Two interconnected loops guide the needle's angle, while a rotating capstan securely inserts or withdraws the carriage carrying the needle. Designed by Remy Kaldawy and Aaron Becker using SolidWorks software, the precision of the system is critical to its success. Key components include printed structures from an Alaris 30 Objet printer in a clean white color. Additionally, Lego Technic axles are used as connectors to stabilize the hoops' positions within the machine.
