MR2 Vibe 400.1m Amplifier Mount
thingiverse
The Vibe Powerbox 400.1m amp takes up minimal space and can be installed in smaller spaces than larger amps, making it ideal for compact applications such as the SW20 MR2. Some cars come equipped with the premium sound system featuring subwoofer enclosures behind the seats and grills in front of them, allowing you to mount the Vibe amp where this grill would be... assuming you're not trying to power those stock enclosures. All SW20 chassis have mounting holes for the grill, although on cars without grills, you'll need to cut the carpet to expose them. This device consists of two parts: a frame that sits behind the chassis section and a faceplate covering the same area as the original grill where the amp can be screwed onto. M4 heat press-in threaded inserts are required to finish and use these pieces, with 4 on each part. I attach the faceplate to the frame using M4x20 and then M4x12 to secure the amp (longer might hit the chassis). The faceplate does not fit my Ender3 printer unless printed at a 45º incline, so I've also provided a faceplate sliced in two with zero tolerance on the slice. This will provide a very snug fit but may require some work with a knife to mate up. This is designed for the position behind the left-hand seat (passenger seat on UK, Aus/NZ, and Japanese cars). You'll need to mirror both components to use on the right-hand side. Due to its application in a car, printing with high-temperature filament such as ASA is advised.
