MR16 / GU5.3 LED spot lamp base holder
thingiverse
This is a MR16 / GU5.3 LED spot light holder. It should only be used with low power LED lamps and NEVER with halogen ones! I bought a bunch of Phillips CorePro 3W GU5.3 LED lamps for a good price, but my installed spots were MR11, so I had to replace the holders. As I didn't want to have to enlarge the holes, most commercial GU5.3 holders I could find would not be suitable for 60mm holes, so I decided to design and print my own model... I printed a lot of these (35 to be precise) in eSun's natural PETG and painted them with acrylic primer + paint + clear varnish in silver, gold and white colors. The results are quite good as they received my wife's Seal of Approval (tm) and that's a feat :) All dimensions are parametrized. See the source code and the included pictures for the most important parameters localization. For each holder, you'll need a "holder" (MR16SpotV01.stl) and a retaining ring (MR16RingV01.stl). Just push the holder in the wall or ceiling hole. Install the LED lamp and lock it with the retaining ring. I'll repeat it one last time: ONLY SUITABLE FOR LOW POWER LED LAMPS (~3W)!
