Mr J Pond: Froggy on a Lilypad
thingiverse
A long time ago, I decided to sculpt a frog relaxing on a lilypad as a gesture of gratitude towards Michael Hackney for his generous gift of a very nice book on Patinas that he purchased for me but which I kept forgetting about. During this period, several MMU systems became available so I developed a version capable of utilizing multiple materials. After completing the model, I promptly forgot about it until I was cleaning up my studio during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order and stumbled upon the two-colour version. I always prefer to have my work evaluated and critiqued by others before releasing it, and Chris Russel and Tom Jackson kindly offered to assist me. Chris printed the four-colour frog and Tom provided the printing profile. Here is Froggy, who after much discussion with my testers evolved into a secret agent frog and has been renamed James Pond - I need to create a version featuring a Walther PPK by his side and perhaps a vodka martini. He functions best with four or more colours and is divided up so each piece can be assigned as desired. Froggy also works with just two colours, and I have included a version for single-material machines too. No supports are required. Printed by Chris Russell on the Prusa Mk3S w/MMU. Photographs were taken by Chris Russell. The greens used are @FilamentOne GLINT, the whites are F1 PLA and HTPLA+, and the black is @Prusament Galaxy Black.
