Mr. Bunny Two-Piece Mold
thingiverse
A scaled-down version of the Mr. Bunny figurine was created from the original model uploaded by fpertl, with a size adjustment to 12% smaller. Autodesk Netfabb software was utilized to subtract the bunny shape from stock mold pieces designed in AutoCAD 2005. To resolve issues with removal, the bunny needs to be positioned forward in the mold design. The two-piece mold was printed at 75 micron voxels using FunToDo Industrial Blend on a SafFire Large Accessory laser printer. A metal casting made of Sn43Pb43Bi14 solder, which has a lower melting point than most solders, was used for this project. This attempt at making a mold and casting was a first-time effort, leaving room for significant improvement. Updates will be provided soon on the progress of this project.
