MPTDC JJU-GRABBY
grabcad
Hi everyone! Here's my submission for this fascinating challenge. I hope it proves useful. The MPTDC JJU "Grabby" Prosthetic Hand features: low cost, home printing capabilities, improved soda can gripping, adaptability to various sizes, compatibility with simple rubber elastics without modification, avoidance of special flexible filaments, suitable for both right and left hand usage through assembly adjustments. The design includes finger shifts created by two different setting holes (wire-interconnected fingers), shock absorption due to wire connections, an anthropomorphic appearance that can be concealed within a glove, robust, flat, symmetrical, and convertible fingers, lightweight parts with reinforcement to reduce printing filling issues. It also features friendly printing components with flat bases and no mounts, strength provided by steel wires or cables or nylon wires, reduced friction using normal washers, and a main axis comprised of bolts, washers, and screws with printable braces or just one printable axis. Easy M10 ICRC fixation is also included. Although I ran short on time to enhance features like wire path planning and scale adjustments, the hand is nearly switchable for VO and VC use. Further studies are required regarding elastic and wire exchanges, as well as modification implementation.
