MPSMV2 40mm Fan Duct Modification
thingiverse
This is an update for the MPSM V2 40mm Fan Shroud ... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2448223\r\n\r\nBackground: The new all-metal E3D hotend was approximately 3mm shorter; which necessitated a new duct, an amended STL, or modification ... well this is the modification I created for it.\r\n\r\nIf you slice the duct about 1mm past the attachment point, it'll fit the shorter hot-ends, or reduce the amount cut and it'll fit the stock parts ... with the benefit that it now encircles the print from three sides! The duct is divided internally to redirect air to both sides.\r\n\r\nIt's been cooling remarkably well with PETG; no more stringy mess like before! Well, let's just say 90% reduction.\r\n\r\nI have included the files for two options:\r\nOption 1: One complete part; if you can somehow figure out how to print with minimal internal supports.\r\nOption 2: Split in two (inner/outer) so you can print separately and bond together (which I did).
